London Gateway is the UK's newest container terminal; it occupies a site the size of the City of London and has 500+ employees. We were briefed by the facilities and communications teams to use the office walls as a means to build a sense of community within the site and to inspire and motivate employees.
Yoke developed a new brand style to use throughout the five office buidlings, drawing on the existing architecture and the technical drawings of the port equipment. We developed the language so that it could be used throughout the site, creating a sense of cohesion throughout. We also commissioned HDR photography of the port that could be used throughout in large format graphics.
Yoke has designed hundreds of square metres of bespoke wall vinyls which now adorn the corridors, offices and stairwells at London Gateway. We also installed smaller items such as individual prints of the port, printed directly onto aluminium di-bond and birch plywood to add texture and materiality to the site.
